JALT2020—Communities of Teachers & Learners
It is our pleasure to present the 2020 JALT Postconference Publication: Communities of Teachers & Learners. The papers published in the PCP reflect the concerns of the language teaching professionals who presented at last year’s JALT International Conference. This year’s edition encompasses a variety of topics, including a number of papers documenting educators’ efforts to grapple with the effects of the recent pandemic. This year also sees a number of changes to the editorial staff. Joining the PCP are Rick Derrah, our new Production Editor, and Peter Ferguson, who will take over as Editor-in-Chief next year. Our thanks to outgoing Production Editor Aleda Krause and Reading Committee Coordinator Reginald Gentry for their work.
We would not be able to publish the PCP without the help of many volunteers: the reviewers who evaluated the submissions, content editors who worked with authors on revisions, and copy editors who proofread and checked manuscripts for final publication. Many of these individuals did considerably more than was asked of them and contributed in more than one area, and we appreciate their dedication and professionalism. We also appreciate the authors who have contributed by presenting at the conference, writing up their work, and submitting to a rigorous process of review and editing in preparation for publication. Without them, there would be no PCP.
Finally, we would like to thank readers for checking out the PCP, as the excellent work represented here would have little meaning without an interested audience to continue the conversation. We hope that all of you, contributors and readers alike, will return for future conferences and issues of the PCP.
