GSC is an internationally minded school that uses English as a medium of instruction to teach science, mathematics, social studies, PE, music and art.

Full-time Junior/Senior High School Teacher

【Subjects】
Chemistry, mathematics, social studies, English
(with possible contribution to English program)

【Qualifications】
1. Understanding and appreciation of the school’s Christian heritage and its mission to “love thy neighbor.”
2. Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in education or related fields.
3. Understanding of and/or a strong interest in a concept-based inquiry learning program.
(Preferred, but not mandatory, qualifications)
1. Teaching license/certificate.
2. Prior experience in teaching junior/senior high school chemistry
3. Teaching experience in an IB world school.
4. Understanding of Japanese culture and language.

【Duties】
1. Design and implement engaging and level-appropriate chemistry lessons fostering curiosity and interest to junior and senior high school students.
2. Work collaboratively with other teachers in planning and delivering concept-based inquiry lessons.
3. Lead or assist in leading a homeroom class and other school responsibilities.
4. Participate in school teacher development workshops as well as IB workshops.
5. Attend all teachers’ meetings.
(if applicable depending on qualifications and experience) Teach English in addition to chemistry.

【Salary and Benefits】
-Salary will be determined in accordance with the teacher's experience and the school's salary regulations. (252,000 ~ 448,000 yen - tax excluded)
-Bonuses are generally paid twice a year, for a total of four months' salary. An additional bonus may be provided at the end of the fiscal year.
-Benefits include health insurance, travel support (limited), retirement contributions (national & private), housing and transportation allowances
- One year renewable contract with the possibility of tenure for qualified teachers.
