Tamagawa Academy is currently seeking a part-time EAL Teaching Assistant to work in collaboration with the IB EAL Coordinator, providing support for English language learners within the IB framework starting from September 1st 2025.

REQUIREMENTS
* Ability to support the school EAL coordinator and support students' English studies.
* To understand and agree with the school's educational policy, and to be passionate about education, be cheerful, open-minded, and healthy in mind and body.
* Those who do not fall under Article 9 of the School Education Law
* For non-Japanese citizens, the candidate must either have or expect to be granted a valid residence status or activity permission by the Immigration Services Agency (ISA) which will allow the part time work at Tamagawa Academy by the start date. Application procedures with ISA must be handled by the candidate personally.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
[Contract Length]
September 1st, 2025 to March 31st, 2026. Renewable annually to a maximum of 5 years. Contract renewal is to be determined by taking into consideration the criteria set forth in the Tamagawa Academy Part-time Staff Regulations.
[Job Description]
* Assist with English supplementary classes (language support) at the Tamagawa Academy IB Division (MYP, DP)
* Assist students in classes taught in English
* Assist in the management of students' English skill levels
* Other assistant duties requested by the EAL coordinator
No changes will be made to the scope of work or location.
[Working Hours]
9:30 – 17:00 6.5 hours a day (with a day break), three days a week
[Holidays]
Sundays, Saturdays, weekdays excluding the working days, national holidays, August 1 to August 31 and winter vacation. Employees may be asked to work on holidays, due to school events and other circumstances and will be granted a substitute holiday on such occasions.
COMPENSATION
[Monthly Wage]
¥90,714 * No payment for August as no work is required.
[Transport Fee]
Provided within a maximum of 50,000 yen per month according to school regulations
[Insurance]
Workers' accident compensation insurance * Enrollment and payment to the National Health Insurance and National Pension Plans must be conducted by the candidate personally.
