Seeking a passionate, patient, and professional native-level English teacher for our Sapporo Campus for the 2025 school year. Though the contract will run from September 1st, 2025 through March 31st 2026, we are also interested in candidates who can start prior to this date.
We are looking for a full-time teacher with competence in teaching Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing to high school students (PBL experience welcomed). Teachers should have a wide range of tools to help students develop all four skills while encouraging autonomous learning to keep students motivated and focused.
Candidates should demonstrate confidence, creativity, and passion in working with students of various levels of English proficiency to help them achieve their goals. In addition to in-class instruction, this job involves assisting students outside of class, providing support and preparation for various contests (speech, essay, etc.), monitoring individual progress, and providing feedback and advice for continued development.
The candidate should also be comfortable working closely with Japanese colleagues in a team environment to implement management policy and contribute to the overall school environment. This includes attending regularly scheduled meetings, assisting in student recruitment efforts, communicating with other staff members (usually in Japanese) to share ideas, and assisting with day-to-day tasks.
【Work schedule】
- Mon-Fri: 8:30am - 5:00pm.
- Sat: (scheduled monthly for school promotions and events).
- Occasional scheduled overtime (paid).
【Holiday】
- Other holidays: 120 days off in a year (including company holidays and non-working weekends).
- Paid Leave: 10 days
【Essential Duties】
- Prepare and teach solo lessons
- Monitor and record student progress
- Maintain attendance and lesson progress records
- Participate in special school events (festivals, sporting activities, assemblies, etc.)
- Assist with promotional and recruiting events
- Attend staff meetings
- Other General Duties: cleaning, etc.
[Qualification required]
- Native-level English.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher.
- JHS and/or SHS teaching experience.
[Preferred Qualifications]
- Recognized TEFL / TESOL certificate, CELTA, DELTA, Trinity, etc.
- Experience in teaching EIKEN, TOEIC, TOEFL, and IELTS
- Experience in coaching students for speeches, presentations, and debates
- Intermediate Level Japanese Proficiency
【Salary】
- Monthly: JPY 250K - JPY 350K.*
*Salary is negotiable and based on experience and expertise.
