ENGLISH COMMUNICATION TEACHER (Full Time) in Tsuchiura, Ibaraki

Tsuchiura Nihon University Secondary School in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture is looking for enthusiastic, creative and dedicated English teachers to join our school's English-Communication team for junior and senior high school students.

Job Description:

1. Teaching duties: Approximately sixteen 50-minute classes per week within a 40-hour work week plus some extra classes after school and during seasonal breaks.

2. Duties include:
-Developing instructional materials, creating lesson plans, unit plans, tests and conversation/listening activities.
-Consistently delivering quality instruction to students with diverse needs and abilities.
-Supervising students in intra- and inter-school competitions
-Preparing students for various tests such as EIKEN, TOEFL, and IELTS
-Assisting students’ domestic and overseas trips
-Supervising club activities

3. Administration: Teachers are also required to attend meetings, assist with school events and activities, help administer in-house tests, and collaborate with the school's PR department on various school promotion activities. Teachers work Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

4. Salary 300,000 yen/month, commuting allowance, visa/teaching license sponsorship

5. -Paid personal leave (10 days/yr for the 1st year, 20 days/yr from the 2nd year)
-Approx. 10 paid holidays during winter break
-Study leave for professional development (26 days/yr + 10 days in summer)
-Shortened work hours during spring, summer and winter breaks

Requirements:
-Must currently reside in Japan
-University degree
-Have experience teaching non-native English speakers
-Have experience in collaborative planning and working in a multicultural environment
-Native English-level proficiency

Start of Employment:
-April 2025
