EST is currently accepting applications for HR/Office Manager for a private junior/senior high school dispatch company in the Tokyo area starting from April 2025. This is an interesting and exciting opportunity for the right person to work in the areas of management, course and teaching material design, educational training, and teaching.

=== Position requirements ===

- Native English-level speaker.
- Experience in personnel management.
- Extensive experience in teaching English to Japanese students of all levels.
- Experience in teaching at junior and/or senior high schools in Japan.
- Bachelor’s degree minimum.
- Teaching qualifications (preferably MA TESOL/linguistics or current MA student).
- Experience in course and syllabus design.
- A high level of grammatical and linguistic knowledge.
- A high level of competence in Japanese as the job occasionally requires staff and school meetings in Japanese as well as Japanese to English translation.
- Valid visa and current residence.
- Ability to work as an effective and dedicated team member
- Residing within about one hour of central Tokyo.

=== Main responsibilities ===

- Management of, and communication with, client school native English teachers, including taking sick calls outside of work hours.
- Coordinating substitute teachers and arranging/confirming schedules.
- Personnel/Human Resources (hiring new teachers, resolving issues etc).
- Lesson observation/feedback.
- Teaching classes/giving presentations and seminars.
- Essay course development and marking.
- Assisting curriculum manager with developing, updating courses and materials mainly for junior/senior high schools.
- Sales and marketing (including sales meetings at client schools).
- Translation for corporate clients.

=== Working Conditions ====

- Location: Head office located in central Tokyo (JR Yamanote Line area). Client schools are mainly located in the Tokyo area.
- Working hours: Essentially 8:30~17:30, Monday to Friday. However, this position requires flexibility with working hours, including occasional overtime and weekend work (time can be taken off in compensation).
- Salary: 350,000-400,000 yen/month (Dependent upon experience and other considerations). Pay rises are possible depending on company financials and work performance. Social insurance enrollment and all travel expenses.
- Holidays: Weekends, national holidays.
- Contract: Initial one-year contract (April 2025 to March 2026). Upon mutual agreement, full-time (正社員) status may be conferred after completion of the initial contract. This position will officially begin on April 1st, 2025, however, due to the nature of the position, we may request partial availability from March in order to receive training to create a smooth transition (this training/transition period will be paid).
