Academic Manager and Academic English Teacher at UNSW Foundation Studies Program Kyoto Campus

We are looking for teachers who would be able to hold both Academic Teacher and Academic Manager positions at UNSW Foundation Studies Program Kyoto Campus.

Location: Kyoto (Ideally, the applicant should live in the Kansai area.)
Course duration: 9 months
Course start dates: Twice a year in March and July
Students English Level: IELTS score of 6.0 or above
Class size: Maximum 20 students

1. Academic Teacher Job Overview
● Part-time
● 1 year contract, extension possible by mutual agreement
● Transportation expenses will be paid
● Hourly wage: 8,000-10,000 yen (Depends on experience and educational background)
● Curriculum and materials will be prepared by UNSW College
● Teach academic English, including essays, presentations, discussions, etc., as students will go directly into Australian undergraduate degrees after completing the program.

2. Academic Manager Job Overview
● Part-time
● Contract renewal on a monthly basis (業務委託)
● Monthly salary: 100,000 yen
● Must overlap with Academic English Teacher
● Teachers and students support
● Participate in Monthly Meetings with UNSW and provide feedback from teachers, if necessary.
● Writing letters of recommendation as Academic Manager when students apply to Australian universities.
Requirements:
● hold a Bachelor of Education, Diploma of Education, Diploma of Education Studies, or a two-year Teaching Certificate; OR
Must have at least two years of teaching experience in College or University level.
● Must reside in the Kansai area and have a work visa.
Since teachers must deliver the program in English, must demonstrate to the provider and UNSW College a level of "English proficiency”.
We will consider:
● whether the teacher has a recognized degree completed in English.
● any experience teaching in English (at least two years' experience teaching in
English is desirable);
● whether the teacher has lived and worked in a country where English is the
primary language; and
● whether the teacher has an official language level equivalent to IELTS 7.5 or
above.
