Research Mentor, Tokyo

We are looking for exceptional Research Mentors to provide the technical expertise and project management acumen necessary for success. We have a high demand for projects related to economics. Typical hours of operation are from 4pm to 10pm JST, weekdays, and 9am to 9pm JST, weekends.

Job details: 

What you will work on:

Teaching high school students 1-on-1, either in person or via Skype or Zoom

Supporting students through their original, relevant, and feasible research project

Helping students develop the essential skills within your discipline

Our ideal candidate:

Has graduated from a top tier university with at least Master’s degree or higher

Has academic publications in peer-reviewed journals, conferences or workshops

Prior research mentorship and teaching experience

Is passionate about mentorship, about engaging with students beyond their academics and playing a critical role in their success and character growth

Has good project planning skills and ability to meet deadlines

Has prompt communication and strong collaboration skills

Work hours:

Work hours will align with the schedules of students in Tokyo, Japan. Typical hours of operation are from 4pm to 10pm JST on weekdays, and 9am to 9pm JST on weekends.

Tokyo Academics also has students across the world in the US, Europe, Australia, etc. Matching with students in these regions may yield more favorable working hours for remote candidates.
