The successful candidate will teach the following courses offered at the College of Education (mainly for Department of English Language Teaching), Graduate School of Education, and Liberal Arts. All teaching and supervision may be conducted in English.

5. Qualifications
1. Doctorate or Master’s degree in the designated areas (including those who expect to complete the degree in March, 2026).
2. Having strong interests in pre-service teacher education and in teaching cross-cultural understanding, English communication, and cultures in English speaking countries/regions. Prepared and willing to undertake, in addition to teaching designated subjects, administrative duties at the College of Education including management, international exchange and cooperation, admissions work, student affairs, and student recruitment.
3. Willing to undertake their own research in the areas designated above.
4. Having native English speaking proficiency, or equivalent, of any nationality, with native or near-native fluency in both spoken and written Japanese to undertake administrative duties at Ibaraki University.
5. Does not fall under the conditions for disqualification in the University Employment Regulations article (4-2).

Pay system: annual salary system with pay increase provided

Salary, research funds, working hours and holidays are stated in the Ibaraki University Regulations. See “Details for Position Opening” for details.
Ibaraki University provides 10% of indirect costs of external funding to the recipient of the funds.

11. Selection process

Second selection: Shortlisted candidates will be notified for interviews. Interviews are conducted in person, and multiple interviews may be requested. No travel expenses will be provided.
