We are currently looking to hire a Program Supervisor at Waseda University Academic Solutions.
Program Supervision
- Attend to day-to-day supervision, support and running of all EAP programs including:
the monitoring of instructor duties, teaching and administrative needs,
assessment deadlines, corresponding with and contacting instructors, the creation and issuance of appropriate information and documentation, and dealing with questions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and course materials.
- Offer administrative and educational support to instructors and students of EAP programs.
- Assist in all areas relating to the organization and conduct of make-up tests, including notifying students and instructors, invigilating examinations and collecting examination papers.
Lesson Observations
Use the observation system as outlined in the observation guidelines in order to maintain the quality of instruction of instructors in the relevant educational program.
Workshops
- Arrange and conduct instructor training workshops and other training sessions to ensure that instructors have the necessary skills to teach classes based on the prescribed guidelines and to make instructors fully aware of all current requirements in the relevant EAP program. Use all available resources and feedback as tools to improve the conduct of future workshops.
Teaching Classes
- Prepare for, teach, and complete all related comment, review and assessment tasks for any EAP course.
Contents Development
- Assist in the timely and efficient contents development of any project, course or program designated by the Language Education Department of WAS.
- Establish and/or amend regulations and guidelines for testing, scoring and assessment for new and existing WAS courses.
-Periodically update and modify WAS courses, curricula, schedules and texts to ensure that WAS materials provide up-to-date and appropriate contents in all its courses and programs.
Qualifications
(a) Master's degree (other degrees may be considered depending on work experience); at least one year of teaching English for
(b) Academic Purposes (EAP) and/or conversation at the university level; and a proper visa essential.
(c) TOEIC 900 or above and overseas experience for applicants whose first language is not English.
(d) Good command of computers, major apps, and word processing.
(e) Must attend an interview in Japan.
(f) A valid work visa for Japan.
Remuneration
Annual Salary: 4 million yen ~ 5 million yen
400,000 yen/month
overtime paid separately
※ Local transportation fee will be reimbursed (Limited express trains are not reimbursed.)
※ Driving to work is prohibited.
