The English department of the University of Electro-Communications, a national science university in Chofu, Tokyo, is seeking candidates for a part-time teaching position from April 1, 2018. The position is renewable on a yearly basis by mutual agreement.

JOB DETAIL:
Teach a 1st year undergraduate English course in Academic Written English (on Fridays) in the Spring (starting in April) and Fall (starting in October) semesters. QUALIFICATIONS:

The British Council Tokyo Teaching Centre is looking for qualified and experienced teachers to join our large and dynamic team. The Tokyo Teaching Centre (TC) runs a wide range of courses both on-site and off-site within the city and surrounding areas.

The contract is for 30 hours of work a week, with up to 18 hours per week of classroom contact time. Applicants must be expert speakers of English with a bachelor’s degree who hold the Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate TEFL and have two years or more full-time post-qualification teaching experience. It is also desirable that you hold Cambridge DELTA or Trinity Diploma and/or the CELTA Young Learner Extension or the TYLEC.

It is essential that all teachers must also be capable and willing to teach on all types of courses and projects. This includes teaching adults on General English and Exams preparation courses, students in universities, school students in junior high schools and elementary schools and Young Learners (YL) at kindergarten and elementary school ages.

Successful applicants will be informed of the project or type of work to which they will be initially assigned at the time when offers of employment are made.

The employment contract is for one year, and is renewable one time (until March 2020).
