ALPS Foreign Language School is seeking a full-time English teacher for children and teenagers.

About ALPS:
ALPS Foreign Language School is a small, established private English school in Saginuma, Kawasaki, with around 200 students, mainly children and teenagers. Classes are small, usually up to 6 students. Lessons are held in small-group and private lesson settings.

Duties:
The teacher will teach English lessons to children and teenagers. Classes may include conversation, phonics, reading, grammar, Eiken preparation, school English support, and general English skills.

Main responsibilities include:
- Teach English lessons to children and teenagers
- Prepare for lessons using provided materials
- Create a positive, safe, and encouraging classroom atmosphere
- Help students build confidence in using English
- Support shy students and help them feel comfortable participating
- Follow ALPS curriculum, lesson flow, and classroom routines
- Communicate professionally with school staff
- Support seasonal lessons, trial lessons, or school events when needed

Working hours:
Approximately 35 working hours per week
Approximately 25-28 teaching/class hours per week
Main schedule is Monday to Friday, mainly afternoon and evening classes from around 2:00 PM onward.
Some schedule flexibility may be required depending on school needs.

Salary:
250,000-320,000 yen per month, depending on experience, teaching ability, schedule, Japanese ability, and responsibilities.

Required qualifications:
- Native English-level proficiency
- Clear and natural pronunciation
- Must currently reside in Japan
- Valid visa or permission to work in Japan
- Reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and ability to work as part of a small team
- Ability to follow an existing curriculum and school teaching style
- Interest in supporting students' progress over time

Preferred qualifications:
- Experience teaching children in Japan
- Experience with preschool, kindergarten, elementary, or junior high students
- Experience with phonics, reading, conversation, Eiken preparation, or school English support
- TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, teaching license, or child-education-related training
- Basic conversational Japanese
- Familiarity with American English pronunciation, classroom expressions, and culture
- Experience using classroom games, songs, storytelling, crafts, or other child-centered activities
