Join a growing International Course at a private secondary school in central Tokyo, combining the Japanese national curriculum with Cambridge International education. We plan to launch our senior high school course in April 2027, offering an opportunity to help develop the programme and shape its future.
Duties
• Teach mathematics and science at junior high school level and Physics at senior high school through Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A Level.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, course development and co-curricular activities.
• Monitor students’ progress and well-being.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in ongoing professional development.
Required qualifications and experience
• CEFR C2 English proficiency.
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
• An EFL/TESOL background with CELTA, DELTA, MA TESOL or equivalent.
• Experience in the Japanese education system, particularly at junior high or high school level.
• Experience in curriculum planning and development.
• Commitment to student learning, well-being and collaborative course development.
• Current residence in Japan with a valid work permit and a long-term commitment to working in Japan.
Experience with Cambridge International programmes, CLIL or international education is advantageous, as are a relevant master’s degree, business-level Japanese and a current Tokyo teaching licence.
Salary and benefits
Monthly base salary of ¥320,000–¥350,000, plus allowances, commuting expenses and shakai hoken. Professional development and support from an experienced project team are provided. Visa renewal support is available; new visa sponsorship is not available. Permanent Resident status is preferred.
