Executive Business English Coach, IMMERSE, Remote (JST Hours

Position Type: Independent contractor, remote, part-time/flexible (session-based, JST business hours)

About the Role:
IMMERSE is hiring experienced coaches to deliver 1:1 business English coaching to senior executives in Japan. Learners are advanced speakers preparing for high-stakes situations: running meetings, presenting to leadership, negotiating, and communicating with US-based counterparts. You'll work with a small ongoing caseload rather than a rotating queue, building a real coaching relationship with each learner over time.

Duties:

Deliver 1:1 coaching sessions (50 minutes, via Zoom) with executive learners
Personalize content and sequencing for each learner based on their role and goals
Coach pronunciation, grammar, fluency, and professional writing
Provide written post-session feedback the learner can act on
Track learner progress and adjust coaching plans accordingly

Qualifications:

2+ years of verified 1:1 coaching experience with senior/executive-level professionals (4+ years preferred)
Bachelor's degree required; Master's in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or Business Communication preferred
English-teaching credential (TESOL/TEFL/CELTA or equivalent) strongly preferred
Strong command of English pronunciation and professional writing conventions; ability to model General American English pronunciation for learners preparing to work with US-based counterparts
Available during JST business hours
Comfortable using Zoom and learning new platforms

Compensation:
$45-70 per session (covers the 50-minute session, prep, and written feedback). Onboarding/calibration paid separately at $20/hour. Full session pay on late cancellations (less than 8 hours' notice) or no-shows. Independent contractor engagement; coaches are responsible for their own taxes and freelance status.
