Sano Nihon University College invites applications for a full-time Tokunin Koushi (Specially Appointed Lecturer) position. The successful candidate will teach a workload of 10 koma (90-minute periods) per week across various departments.
Core teaching duties include:
• English Field Students: Listening and Speaking (1st and 2nd year), Academic Writing (1st and 2nd year), and Business English.
• Other Fields: English for Nutrition Students, Customer Care English, and Travel English.
In addition to classroom teaching, responsibilities include:
• Participation in faculty committee membership and campus meetings.
• Assistance with weekend student recruiting events (Open Campus).
• Development of materials and conducting lessons for Japanese Teachers of English (JTE) Training Sessions.
• Planning, preparation, and management of the English Camp.
• Participation in other university special events as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Education: A Master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with strong relevant experience and a positive disposition will be fully considered.
• Language Proficiency: Native English-level proficiency is preferred, though exceptional character, teaching ability, and experience are prioritized. Conversational Japanese ability is preferred, but the university takes a holistic approach and evaluates each candidate's overall combination of qualifications.
• Experience: Prior experience teaching at the tertiary or secondary level in Japan is highly valued.
• Applicants must currently reside in Japan with valid work authorization.
Compensation & Contract Terms:
• Employment Status: Full-time, direct-hire position.
• Contract Duration: One year, renewable upon mutual agreement. There is no specific limitation on the number of contract renewals.
• Starting Date: April 1, 2027
• Compensation: Monthly salary is calculated based on teaching experience and the number of koma
1. Base Rate: ¥28,600 per month per weekly koma (¥286,000/month for a 10-koma workload)
2. 5+ Years Experience: ¥35,860 per month per weekly koma (¥358,600/month for a 10-koma workload)
• Benefits: Health insurance, pension, and commuting expenses are included.
