This role is a maternity cover teaching position for high school chemistry including overseeing experiments and essays, participating in meetings [providing after school tutorials, grading entrance exams and participating in other duties outside the classroom (if necessary)]

Position: Chemistry teacher (maternity cover)
Period: July 1, 2026 - January 6, 2027(Possibility of extension)
Level: Experienced (IB experience preferred)
Position type: full-time (contract)
Education level: 4-year degree (minimum)
Requirements: Native level English fluency, University degree, Ability to get a Japanese visa, Ability to get permission to teach at a Japanese school
Salary Range: Over 262,600 yen per month(Depend on experience and qualifications.)

Work Hours: 8:25 to 17:25 Monday to Friday
Holidays: Saturdays and Sundays
Responsibilities: Teaching chemistry to high school grade 1 to 3 students (grade 10 to 12), overseeing independent experiments for internal assessments and extended essays, participating in meetings [providing after school tutorials, grading entrance exams and participating in other duties outside the classroom (if necessary)]
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field (minimum requirement)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in secondary education
- Experience teaching IB DP Chemistry is favorable
- Strong knowledge of chemistry concepts and laboratory techniques
- Ability to design lesson plans that promote inquiry-based learning
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Proficiency in English
