Chiba University invites applications for 2 - 3 part-time English instructor positions to teach first and second year students from October 1st 2026.
Classes
- face-to-face on Nishi Chiba Campus
- first-year and second-year compulsory courses: Writing, Discussion, Presentation, Critical
Thinking in English, English for Specific Fields

Qualifications
Applicants should meet all of the following requirements:
(1) Practical English teaching qualification such as CELTA / DELTA / TEFL
(2) Master's degree in a field related to English teaching
(3) Ability to teach classes in English
(4) Experience teaching at a university or junior college in Japan
Application documents
(1) Curriculum vitae in English with a photograph attached.
(2) A full list of educational and research achievements.
(3) Contact details for at least one academic referee.
(4) Copies of qualification certificates.
Please note
Non-Japanese applicants should hold a valid visa for teaching at a Japanese university.
The position is renewable on a yearly basis for up to five years.
Retirement age: 65
Interviews will be held face-to-face in July 2026. Unfortunately, travel to the Nishi-Chiba campus cannot be reimbursed.
