The English Program at Utsunomiya University, within the Liberal and General Education Center, is seeking cooperative and motivated part-time lecturers to teach first-year courses in its Integrated English Program, beginning in Spring Semester 2026.

Position: Part-time Lecturer (非常勤講師 / Hijokin-Koshi)

Appointment Period: 2026 (Classes begin April 2026)

Teaching Schedule
Applicants must be available for one of the following pairs: Mon-Thu or Tue-Fri (both days required per pair)
• Monday & Thursday, and/or
• Tuesday & Friday
Class periods (2x90-minute Koma):
• 1st period: 8:40–10:10
• 2nd period: 10:20–11:50
Positions are available for one lecturer or potentially two lecturers, depending on availability. Preference will be given to candidates residing locally in Tochigi or nearby areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teaching EGAP (English for General Academic Purposes) courses within the first-year Integrated English Program, with a focus on reading and writing.
• Assessment

Salary: Compensation will be determined in accordance with Utsunomiya University regulations.

Qualifications:
1. MA in TESOL, SLA, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
2. High English proficiency
3. Experience teaching English as a Foreign Language at the tertiary level preferred
4. A cooperative and flexible attitude, with the ability to work collaboratively within an integrated program
5. Communicative ability in Japanese
6. Two referee contacts
