Looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified teacher with significant teaching experience currently living in the Yokohama area
A full time position beginning April 1 2026. Monday to Friday with all weekends off, generous holidays, and competitive salary based on teaching experience. Hours are 8:15-16:15 but teachers are asked to do some after-school conversation classes which are paid on top of the regular salary.
Pay is based on scale and includes bonuses of two months salary with contributions to health care and pension.
An example of the scale is
15 years + experience with a relevant MA: 390, 000
15 years + experience with BA: 380, 000
10 years experience with a relevant MA: 340, 000
10 years experience with BA: 330, 000
Our global English teaching team have many responsibilities not limited to the following:
- teaching up to 17 hrs a week in both the junior and senior high school, often teaching classes to every grade from first grade junior high to third year high school
- teaching both team-taught and solo classes
- teaching both lower level and higher level students in streamed English classes
- creating all exams
- participating and assisting in school events such as Sports Day, school festivals, etc.
- being a curriculum leader of a grade
- assisting students outside of teaching hours with English test practice such as EIKEN and IELTS
- helping to create an international atmosphere by speaking with students regularly
Our teachers come from a variety of countries, both English speaking and non-English speaking. However, due to the nature of the position, we will only be accepting a teacher from a non-English speaking country with a min, 7.5 IELTS score with no band less than 7 OR a min. iBT TOEFL score of 102 with no sectional score lower than 25. No other test scores will be considered and the scores must be valid (taken within two years of the application).
