British Council Hourly Paid Teacher of English (Young Learners) (1/30)

Teach in Iidabashi: elementary school students Sunday mornings and/or afternoons, or junior high school students Saturday evenings. JPY 4,400 per teaching hour for teachers with a CELTA, JPY 4,900 with a DELTA. Start from April. Must be currently based in Japan. 

Job details: 

We are recruiting for highly motivated, flexible and customer-oriented EFL teachers to teach at our Iidabashi Teaching Centre. You need to have an undergraduate degree (any discipline), be qualified to at least certificate level or preferably diploma level (i.e. CELTA or DELTA or equivalent) and have 2 or more years of teaching experience, gained through teaching relevant levels and age groups. Young Learner qualifications (e.g. TYLEC, YL extension to CELTA, PGCE or equivalent) are desirable.  

Classes for elementary school students will be weekly on Sunday mornings and/or afternoons (9.00am to 12.00pm and 1.30pm to 4.30pm).

Classes for junior high school students will be weekly on Saturday evenings (5.30pm to 8.30pm).

Teachers will be asked to commit for at least one 15-week term.

Candidates must be based in Japan and have a pre-existing right to work in Japan. Please note that if your current working visa is under the ‘Other’ category (e.g. Professor, Instructor, Artist) you will need to apply for permission to work under the category (Engineer / Specialist in Humanities / International Services).

JPY 4,400 per teaching hour for teachers with a CELTA 
JPY 4,900 per teaching hour for teachers with a DELTA

- Payment for preparation for lessons and marking is included in the hourly teaching rate above and is not paid for separately.
