Teach Japanese language classes in intensive study abroad course in January. You will teach university students coming from US, Australia, Korea and China studying at a Japanese university near Shinjuku.

CIS Japan is now accepting applications for positions to teach Japanese language in an intensive study abroad program at a university in Tokyo.

Contract Duration: 
January 6, 2020 ~ January 31, 2020 (4 weeks)

This program operates in (2) two-week sessions. Applicants are welcome to apply for only one or both sessions. 
Session 1: January 6, 2020 ~ January 17, 2020 (2 weeks)
Session 2: January 20, 2020 ~ January 31, 2020 (2 weeks)

300,000 yen for all 4 weeks or 150,000 yen per two-week session.
Transportation reimbursed up to 20,000 yen in addition to salary.

Work Days & Hours: 
Monday ~ Friday. Class Hours vary from 9:40 ~ 16:40 Monday through Friday.

Total Teaching Hours: 
90 (45 teaching hours per two-week session.)

Job Description:
Teach Beginner, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate or Advanced Japanese lessons for incoming foreign university students to Japan. Students coming from USA, Australia, China, and Korea. In addition to teaching classes, instructors are expected to prepare lesson plans, attend orientation, meetings and graduation ceremonies as required. Marugoto A1, A2, and A1/B1 books will be used. Curriculum provided. Instructors are encouraged to customize the class with their own ideas and activities. There is a focus on active learning with a lot of student-talking time.

Number of positions: 
3 instructors

MA/MS preferred, BA/BS required
Must be a fluent speaker of Japanese
Must have experience teaching adults (university students preferred)
Japanese Language Teaching Certification preferred but not required
Basic English speaking ability preferred
