Part-time (hijokin) instructor positions to teach English Composition

The Core Program in the Faculty of Liberal Arts (FLA) at Sophia University invites applications for non-tenured, part-time (hijokin) instructor positions to teach English Composition starting in April 2020. The course will meet twice a week for 100-minute sessions. The successful applicant will teach a course on advanced academic writing at the college level (NOT ESL/EFL). 

Applicants must fulfill the following qualifications: 
1. Masters’ Degree in Applied Linguistics, Rhetoric & Composition, TESOL, or closely related fields
2. Experience teaching advanced writing courses at the college level 
3. Relevant research interests 
4. Understanding of the FLA and its students (See http://www.fla.sophia.ac.jp/

Strong preference will be given to applicants who can teach Mondays and Thursdays first period (9:00-10:40) and second period (10:55-12:35).

Letter must indicate why you are suited to teach in the FLA Core Program. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted the week of September 9th. Interviews will be held on September 18th and 19th.
