Job details: Technical English classes on Thursdays both Spring and Fall semesters with possible renewal upon availability of classes and mutual agreement between the part-time teacher and the program.

QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants who do not meet the following minimum qualifications cannot be considered for employment by the university.
(1) Completion of an undergraduate or a graduate degree in science and engineering with a background in EFL/ESL education; OR, completion of a Master's degree in TESOL/Applied Linguistics with experiences in teaching students of science and engineering in Japan preferred or in other fields of ESP in Japan;
(2) Publication of at least two refereed academic papers;
(3) At least 1 year of university teaching experience in teaching academic or scientific/technical English preferably in Japan;
(4) Native-like proficiency in English and ability to teach through English;
(5) Willingness to work cooperatively in a coordinated English program for the improvement of the courses and attend course meetings and faculty development seminars;
(6) Familiarity with Japanese tertiary administrative system desirable.

COMPENSATION
Number of working hours: Either 2 or 3 classes on Thursdays are open in the following periods: 1st period (9:00-10:30), 2nd period (10:40-12:10), and 3rd period (13:00-14:30). One class is counted as 2 hours of work, for a total of 15 classes per semester.
Pay: In accordance with the personnel system of UEC Tokyo (Around 5,200 yen per hour)
Length of contract: April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019
Insurance: Not provided
