British Council: Project-Based University Teacher (Tokyo) (2/28)

The British Council Tokyo is looking for experienced teachers to join our offsite teaching teams at Japanese universities. These roles are only open to applicants who have current permission to live and work in Japan. Previous experience teaching at a Japanese university is a requirement.

Job details: 

In addition to teaching, post holders will work alongside a team of other British Council teachers, and are expected to work closely with them in lesson planning and materials development. Post holders also need to undertake duties related to assessment and record keeping and be available for a one-hour meeting each week.

Post holders will be paid by the hour for the fixed-term dates of the project and also receive a project-completion bonus.

We are currently recruiting for two projects teaching Academic English at universities in Tokyo. Applicants should state their order of preference as part of their personal statement when applying online (‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘either’).

A) April 2018 to July 2018, Central Tokyo: you will teach 18 hours per week over one 15-week semester. You are also required to do up to one week of administrative work after the semester finishes.

B) April 2018 to January 2019, Western Tokyo: you will teach 18 hours per week over two 13-week semesters. You are also required to do up to one week of administrative work after each semester finishes.
